Why is it said that the invention of the printing press was a remarkable event?

Ans - One of the most important invention in the human history is printing. There is no imagine a world without books, newspapers or magazines.

A German craftsman, Johannes Gutenberg, invented the printing press. The invention of printing press was held in the year of 1440. Before that, the all text books were copied out by hand. That process took months or years to copy the texts. Therefore, the books were so expensive at that time.

Gutenberg devised a mechanical method of printing. The method is based on the presses used for wine making. Gutenberg developed an adjustable hand mould for making type from molten metal. It made separate letters that would line up and fit together accurately. 

The new mechanical system helped to produce a large number of type letters. Gutenberg also invented or developed an oil-based printing ink, in 1455.

The invention of the printing press marked the beginning of the modern era in the history of human, since it revolutionized the world of Knowledge.
